VASE Construction is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and technology-driven Director of Client and Business Development to lead our business development, strategic pursuits, proposal management, and marketing initiatives.
Reporting directly to the President, this position is responsible for developing client relationships, identifying qualified opportunities, leading proposal development, strengthening the VASE brand, and growing our Construction Management (CM), General Contracting (GC), and Owner's Project Management (OPM) portfolio.
This is a leadership position for someone who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, and winning work.

Primary Goal
Develop client relationships, identify qualified opportunities, lead winning proposals, strengthen the VASE brand, and grow our CM, GC, and OPM backlog.
Primary Responsibilities
Client Development
Research and pursue qualified CM, GC, and OPM opportunities daily.
Develop relationships with owners, developers, municipalities, healthcare organizations, architects, engineers, nonprofits, and industry partners.
Schedule and attend client meetings, networking events, and strategic introductions.
Track pursuits from opportunity through award.
Proposal & Strategic Pursuits
Lead the writing, coordination, and submission of RFQs, RFPs, interview packages, qualifications, and proposals.
Coordinate technical input from leadership, estimating, project managers, and project accounting.
Ensure submissions are accurate, compelling, professionally presented, and submitted before deadlines.
Maintain proposal templates, project sheets, resumes, qualifications packages, and pursuit materials.
Marketing & Brand Leadership
Lead VASE's marketing strategy and supervise the Marketing Coordinators.
Oversee and provide directions to marketing coordinations that are managing LinkedIn/ social media, website content, newsletters, project announcements, award submissions, press releases, and email campaigns.
Coordinate conferences, networking events, speaking engagements, and industry memberships.
Maintain company certifications, licenses, registrations, and prequalification packages with the Project Accountant.
Preconstruction Support
Coordinate bid documents, addenda, subcontractor outreach, and procurement schedules.
Support the estimating team throughout the pursuit process and coordinate final proposal submissions.
Qualifications
BS in Marketing, Business, Communications, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in business development, proposal management, marketing, or the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
Exceptional writing, editing, grammar, and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM software, AI productivity tools, and related technology.
Experience preparing RFQs, RFPs, SOQs, other qualifications packages, and interview presentations.
Experience with Procore, CT Source, or similar procurement platforms preferred.

Schedule 2–3 new client meetings or strategic introductions each week.
Submit 100% of proposals accurately and on time.
Maintain an active and accurate CRM pipeline.
Increase VASE's visibility through marketing, networking, and strategic outreach.
Grow VASE's CM, GC, and OPM backlog.
Maintain current certifications, registrations, licenses, and marketing materials.
